Our handcrafted concrete basins are designed for straightforward and simple installation. Follow these instructions to guarantee a perfect fitting and extend the life of your piece to the maximum.

🔧 Installation — Countertop Basins

Models: Eos, Duna, Iris, Tulip, Tulip Mini, Alba, Mare, Eos Terrazzo and Ares.

Tools needed: High-quality neutral transparent silicone, application gun, standard G1/2 drain valve, soft lint-free cloth.

  1. Preparation: Place the basin carefully on a soft, clean surface (protective blanket or foam) to safely turn it upside down.
  2. Outer sealing bead: Apply a continuous line of neutral transparent silicone around the bottom of the base, 30 mm from the outer perimeter edge.
  3. Inner drainage bead: Apply a second concentric silicone bead 20 mm from the central drain hole.
  4. Seating: Gently turn the piece over and firmly seat it in the correct position on the countertop or pre-drilled furniture, pressing evenly around the entire perimeter.
  5. ⚠️ Valve installation — THE GOLDEN RULE: Install the drain valve by tightening by hand only. The use of adjustable spanners, pliers or mechanical tools is strictly forbidden. Overtightening will fracture the concrete around the valve and void the warranty.
  6. Curing: Initial setting time (touch dry): 60 minutes. Wait a minimum of 12 full hours before connecting the plumbing or using the basin.

🔩 Installation — Wall-Mounted and Suspended Basins

Models: Dama, Amber, Mia, Aura and wall-mounted versions of Tulip, Eos, Duna, Iris, Alba, Mare and Eos Terrazzo.

Prerequisite: These basins must be anchored exclusively on structural load-bearing walls (solid brick, concrete block or suitably internally reinforced plasterboard with steel frames). Never install on simple unreinforced plasterboard partition walls.

  1. Safe handling: A minimum of two people is required to handle the basin to avoid drops or impacts at the corners.
  2. Bracket anchoring: Present the included metal bracket on the wall at the desired height. Using a spirit level, mark the anchor points, drill the wall and fix the bracket with the supplied screws, ensuring perfect horizontal stability.
  3. Silicone application: Apply dense beads of neutral silicone directly onto the flat upper face of the metal bracket.
  4. Basin placement: With two people, lower the basin firmly onto the bracket ensuring it is perfectly centred and against the wall.
  5. Level check: Verify with the spirit level that the basin is perfectly horizontal before the silicone sets.
  6. Curing: Working time (touch dry): 60 minutes. Wait a minimum of 12 full hours before installing plumbing accessories. Do not place tools, taps or mixers inside or near the basin during this process — damage caused by construction carelessness is not covered by the warranty.

🧴 Daily Maintenance and Cleaning

To preserve the smoothness, colour and water resistance of your KREACONCRETE basin:

✅ Recommended products and methods

  • Neutral pH liquid soap (pure Marseille soap, neutral hand soap or Fila Cleaner) diluted in warm water.
  • Clean damp microfibre cloth. Rinse with water and dry the surface after each use.

❌ Prohibited products and actions

  • Aggressive chemicals, acid-based bathroom cleaners, descaling products (Viakal…), bleach, ammonia, nitric acid, vinegar or citrus juices.
  • Green fibre scourers, steel wool or abrasive sponges that can scratch the protective micro-layer.

⚡ Urgent spill management

If cosmetic oils, hair dye, coffee, juices or acids come into contact: clean immediately. Acids can leave a slight permanent light stain through chemical reaction with the cement. Oils may generate a localised dark stain that will naturally fade over time.

🚫 Daily use

  • Do not leave the basin filled with stagnant water for extended periods.
  • Avoid sliding sharp, metal or heavy objects across the surface to avoid breaking the sealant.

💧 The Factory Hydrophobic Treatment

Each KREACONCRETE basin leaves the factory with a hydrophobic and oleophobic protection treatment applied through a multi-layer industrial nanotechnological immersion and curing process. You do not need to apply any sealing product before using the basin.

Under ordinary domestic use and following the neutral soap cleaning guidelines, the treatment has exceptional durability. We recommend evaluating the water repellency after 3 to 5 years of intensive use. If you notice that the concrete absorbs surface moisture and changes colour on contact with water, apply a renewal coat with a water-based penetrating sealant for architectural concrete.

🎨 Texture, Colour and Artisan Authenticity

Handcrafted concrete and terrazzo are living materials. The presence of tone variations, subtle colour gradations, small curing veining and air microbubbles born during manual pouring are intrinsic characteristics that certify artisan authenticity. These traits do not alter the structural strength or the waterproofing of the piece, but endow each basin with a unique and unrepeatable identity.
